All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.

Dual-wheel casters support up to 40,000 lbs total capacity with two wheels per assembly, providing superior stability, load distribution, and floor protection compared to single-wheel designs. CasterHQ stocks dual-wheel casters from 4" to 12" wheel diameter in polyurethane, phenolic, and forged steel — available with standard and kingpinless swivel designs for manufacturing equipment, heavy shelving, and industrial carts. Most ship same day from our network of over $100 million in U.S. warehouse inventory.
Dual-wheel casters excel when stability and load distribution are more critical than compact design. Two wheels per assembly spread the load across a wider contact patch, reducing floor stress and extending wheel life. Dual-wheel designs are ideal for tall, narrow equipment prone to tipping (high shelving, tower racks), large platform carts, or situations where four single-wheel casters would require deep mounting cavities. A dual-wheel assembly typically lasts 2-3x longer than equivalent single-wheel casters because each wheel carries only half the load.
Dual-wheel assemblies provide three key stability advantages over single wheels: (1) wider contact patch distributes pressure, reducing deflection and improving tracking; (2) if one wheel fails, the second wheel continues supporting the load temporarily, preventing catastrophic collapse; (3) side-to-side rocking is minimized because the two wheels lock the swivel into a stable width. For tall equipment or items moved frequently, dual-wheel casters reduce tipping incidents and product damage from instability during movement.
