Hamilton Spinfinity Dual Wheel

The Spinfinity platform is Hamilton’s maintenance-free kingpinless line. The dual-wheel configuration takes the kingpinless advantage — load distributed across a full circumferential raceway instead of a single shaft — and pairs it with two parallel wheels per caster to spread the load even wider. The result is a caster that carries up to 15,600 lb per unit while still swiveling smoothly and needing essentially no maintenance.

The Spinfinity family — by capacity tier

Spinfinity isn’t one caster — it’s a platform with several variants tuned to different load and speed needs. The dual-wheel kingpinless configuration spans a wide capacity range. Pick the tier that matches load per caster plus a safety margin.

Tier 1 · ZFHS · Up to ~3,000 lb

Spinfinity ZFHS Heavy Duty — 2″ Wheels, Maintenance-Free

The compact end of the Spinfinity platform. 2″-wide wheels, kingpinless maintenance-free swivel. For heavy carts and platform trucks that need the kingpinless durability advantage without going to a giant caster.

Tier 2 · ZFWH / ZFFM · Mid-capacity

Spinfinity Mid-Range — Configurator-Matched Builds

The middle of the platform, where wheel diameter and material get matched to the application through Hamilton’s configurator. Single and dual wheel options. The workhorse range for in-plant trailers and transfer carts.

Tier 3 · Dual Wheel · Up to 15,600 lb

Spinfinity Dual Wheel Kingpinless — the 15,600 lb Build

Two parallel wheels per caster, kingpinless raceway, sealed maintenance-free swivel. The dual-wheel load spread is what gets the rating to 15,600 lb while keeping the swivel smooth. For heavy transfer platforms, large in-plant trailers, and powered tow-line systems.

Tier 4 · ZFSEC2 Super Endurance · Speed-rated

Spinfinity ZFSEC2 — Dual TerraTech Wheels, Up to 10 mph

The speed-rated variant. Dual TerraTech press-on tires built for moving heavy loads at speeds up to 10 mph — powered tugger and AGV applications where the caster has to roll fast without flutter or heat build-up.

Why dual wheel reaches 15,600 lb where single wheel struggles — A single wide wheel at 15,000+ lb concentrates load and twisting force on one contact patch and one bearing assembly. Under shock or side load, that single patch can jam the swivel. Two parallel wheels split the load into two contact patches and two bearing assemblies — the twisting force is resisted by the spacing between the wheels, so the swivel stays free even under shock. That’s the engineering reason heavy casters trend toward dual-wheel construction.

When Spinfinity dual wheel is the right call

Spec the Spinfinity dual wheel when you need heavy capacity (5,000-15,600 lb), a maintenance-free swivel (no grease schedule, no annual service downtime), and stability under shock or side load. That combination fits heavy in-plant trailers, powered tow-line transfer systems, large platform trucks, and any application where the caster runs hard and the maintenance crew can’t keep up with a grease schedule.

Step up to the Maxi-Duty platform if your load per caster exceeds 15,600 lb — the Hamilton MD series takes the kingpinless approach to 23,000 lb. Step down to standard kingpinless if you don’t need the dual-wheel stability.

Spinfinity dual wheel FAQs

What does “maintenance-free” actually mean here? The kingpinless swivel raceway is sealed and pre-lubricated for the service life of the caster — no grease zerk, no annual swivel service. The wheel bearings still benefit from periodic inspection, but the swivel itself is genuinely maintenance-free.
What’s TerraTech?TerraTech is the press-on tire used on the speed-rated ZFSEC2 variant — engineered for heat resistance and stability at speeds up to 10 mph. It’s specific to the speed-rated tier, not the standard dual-wheel build.
Can I tow a Spinfinity-equipped platform?Yes — the dual-wheel and ZFSEC2 tiers are built for tow-line and tugger applications. Confirm the speed rating against your tugger speed; the standard dual-wheel build and the 10 mph ZFSEC2 have different ratings.
How does the 15,600 lb rating compare to single-wheel kingpinless?Single-wheel kingpinless casters reach this capacity too, but the dual-wheel build stays more stable under shock and side load, and tends to roll easier because the load is split across two contact patches.
What top plate does the 15,600 lb build use?Heavy Spinfinity dual-wheel builds use large multi-bolt top plates sized to the capacity. Confirm the exact plate dimensions and bolt pattern against your equipment when ordering.
