Search by Specs

If you already know your caster specs, start with mount type, wheel diameter, and load capacity. The finder filters the live CasterHQ catalog and shows your matches. For width, plate size, bolt pattern, stem, or bearing, send photos below and a specialist confirms the exact match.

Upload Photos for Identification

Not sure which caster you need? Upload photos and measurements and a CasterHQ specialist will help identify the correct replacement caster, wheel, or assembly.

For best results, upload

  • Full caster photo
  • Close-up of the wheel
  • Close-up of the mounting plate or stem
  • Bolt pattern with a tape measure in frame
  • Any stamped or printed part number
  • The cart, rack, or equipment it mounts to
Recommended formats: JPG, JPEG, HEIC, WebP, GIF, or PDF. Maximum 20 MB per file. Clear, well-lit photos with a tape measure for scale return the fastest, most accurate match.

Why photos help

A clear photo set lets our team confirm mount type, wheel diameter and width, plate or stem dimensions, and wheel material without back-and-forth. Most replacements are identified from photos plus two or three measurements.

No measurements yet? Send the photos anyway and a specialist will tell you exactly what to measure next.

Send Your Replacement Request

Fields marked * are required. Everything else is optional, send what you have.

+ Add optional details (part number, dimensions, environment)
Adding photos: after you submit, reply to your confirmation email with photos (full caster, wheel, mounting plate or stem, bolt pattern with a tape measure, and any stamped part number), or email them to info@casterhq.com with your company name. Photos are the single fastest way to a correct match.
Request received. A CasterHQ specialist will review your details and reply by email, usually the same business day. To lock in the exact match, reply to that email with your photos.

Information to Include With Your Request

You do not need every field. Send what you have, photos plus a few measurements are usually enough for our team to identify the right replacement.

How to Measure a Replacement Caster

Eight measurements identify almost any caster. Measure to the nearest 1/16 inch and note whether the unit swivels, is rigid, or has a brake.

Wheel diameter

Measure straight across the wheel through the center, edge to edge, with the caster off the ground.

Wheel width

Measure the thickness of the wheel across the tread face, the dimension that contacts the floor.

Overall height

Top of the mounting plate or base of the stem down to the floor. This sets the ride height of the equipment.

Top plate size

Measure the full length and width of the rectangular mounting plate, outer edge to outer edge.

Bolt hole spacing

Center-to-center distance between bolt holes, measured both length and width (and diagonally if staggered).

Stem diameter

For stem casters, measure the diameter of the stem. Note the type: threaded, round, grip-ring, or expanding.

Stem length

Measure from the top of the swivel section to the end of the stem. Include thread length if threaded.

Load capacity

Divide the total loaded weight by the number of casters, then add a safety margin. When in doubt, send the equipment weight and we will calculate it.

Application Details That Help Us Recommend the Right Caster

The right replacement is not just the right size. These application details let our team match the wheel material, bearing, and rig to how the equipment is actually used.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I identify a replacement caster?
Start with four things: mount type (plate or stem), wheel diameter, wheel width, and the load each caster carries. Add the top plate size and bolt pattern for plate casters, or the stem type and diameter for stem casters. Use the Search by Specs finder above, or upload photos with a tape measure for scale and our team will confirm the match.
What photos should I upload?
A full photo of the caster, a close-up of the wheel, a close-up of the mounting plate or stem, the bolt pattern with a tape measure in frame, any stamped part number, and a photo of the equipment it mounts to. These six views let us match size, mount, and wheel material accurately.
How do I measure caster wheel diameter?
With the caster off the ground, measure straight across the wheel through the center, from one outer edge to the other. Measure the tread thickness separately for wheel width.
How do I measure a caster mounting plate?
Measure the full length and width of the plate, outer edge to outer edge, then measure the center-to-center distance between bolt holes in both directions. Note whether the holes are slotted or round.
How do I measure a threaded stem caster?
Measure the stem diameter across the threads, then the stem length from the top of the swivel section to the end of the stem. Identify the stem type: threaded, round, grip-ring, or expanding adapter. Thread pitch helps confirm threaded stems.
What if I do not know the load capacity?
Send the total loaded weight of the equipment and the number of casters supporting it. We divide the load across the casters, add a safety margin for movement and uneven floors, and recommend a rated capacity. You do not need to calculate it yourself.
Can CasterHQ match an old or discontinued caster?
Often, yes. Many legacy casters share standard plate sizes, bolt patterns, and wheel dimensions with current products. Send photos, measurements, and any part number, and we will identify the closest current equivalent or a suitable upgrade.
Can I request a bulk quote for replacement casters?
Yes. CasterHQ supports quotes, purchase orders, and bulk pricing for OEM, MRO, and facility orders. Include the quantity needed with your request and our team will prepare a quote.
