All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.

Find the exact replacement caster by part number, mount type, wheel size, load, or uploaded photos, then have a CasterHQ specialist confirm the fit. Built for OEM, MRO, and facility teams who need the exact match, not the closest guess.
Share measurements, markings, a part number, or photos of the current caster. Only contact details are required, send whatever you have and our team handles the rest.
Already know your caster specs? Start with mount type, wheel diameter, and load capacity to filter the live CasterHQ catalog. For width, plate size, bolt pattern, stem, or bearing, send photos in the request above and a specialist confirms the exact match.
Eight measurements identify almost any caster. Measure to the nearest 1/16 inch and note whether the unit swivels, is rigid, or has a brake.
Measure straight across the wheel through the center, edge to edge, with the caster off the ground.
Measure the thickness of the wheel across the tread face, the dimension that contacts the floor.
Top of the mounting plate or base of the stem down to the floor. This sets the ride height of the equipment.
Measure the full length and width of the rectangular mounting plate, outer edge to outer edge.
Center-to-center distance between bolt holes, measured both length and width (and diagonally if staggered).
For stem casters, measure the diameter of the stem. Note the type: threaded, round, grip-ring, or expanding.
Measure from the top of the swivel section to the end of the stem. Include thread length if threaded.
Divide the total loaded weight by the number of casters, then add a safety margin. When in doubt, send the equipment weight and we will calculate it.
The right replacement is not just the right size. These application details let our team match the wheel material, bearing, and rig to how the equipment is actually used.
Load ratings, terminology, and test methods on this page align with the recognized caster and wheel standards published through ANSI and the Material Handling Industry.
