All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.
The 7,501-10,000 lb capacity tier is super-heavy industrial territory — aircraft ground support equipment, military trailers, foundry transport, steel mill cooling beds, and the largest fleet transport carts in commercial use. The 71 products on this page span wheel sizes from 6″ x 3″ up through 12″ x 4″ with construction in forged steel, kingpinless heavy ductile, Hamilton FVT V-grooved, and Hamilton Maxi-Duty pneumatic. Includes the ML77 7,700 lb heavy-duty pallet jack as the heaviest manual material handling option.

| Construction | Wheel Size Range | Capacity | Application |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hamilton Maxi-Duty Forged Steel | 6″-12″ | 8,000-10,000 lb | Aircraft GSE, military, foundry |
| Forged Steel Swivel Kingpinless | 6″-10″ | 8,000-10,000 lb | Towline-rated heavy industrial |
| Hamilton FVT V-Grooved | 6″-10″ | 10,000 lb | V-rail track applications |
| Polyurethane on Cast Iron HD | 10″-12″ | 7,500-8,000 lb | Heavy industrial transport, non-marking |
| ML77 Pallet Jack Assembly | 27″ x 48″ fork | 7,700 lb | Heavy manual material handling |
Four primary use cases: (1) aircraft ground support equipment — tugs, trailers, baggage carts loaded with 30,000-40,000 lb of cargo on 4 casters; (2) military transport — vehicle dollies, ammunition carts, mil-spec equipment fleet; (3) foundry and steel mill — cooling beds, ingot transport, finished-coil carts; (4) the heaviest commercial fleet transport applications. Below 7,500 lb per caster, the standard heavy-duty tier (up to 6,000 lb) covers the application.
Almost always. At 8,000+ lb per caster, conventional kingpin construction sees catastrophic kingpin shear under shock loads — the kingpin tears out and the caster fails completely. Kingpinless eliminates that failure mode. The few non-kingpinless options at this tier are wheel-only replacements where the existing yoke is already kingpinless.
Almost all super-heavy variants ship LTL freight rather than UPS Ground due to weight (a single 10″ x 4″ forged steel kingpinless caster weighs 60+ lb). Stock items at Mansfield, TX ship within 1 business day; specialty configurations may have 5-7 day lead time. Freight quote at order placement.
Hamilton dominates aircraft ground support and traditional industrial. Caster Concepts dominates the very heaviest applications (16,000+ lb per caster, foundry direct, custom-engineered solutions). Both are stocked authorized at CasterHQ for cross-reference. For 7,500-10,000 lb tier specifically, Hamilton Maxi-Duty and Caster Concepts ZF series are the two dominant choices.
