All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.
Submit photos, measurements, mounting details, and load requirements, and CasterHQ identifies or matches the right replacement caster or wheel. Available nationwide, no part number needed.
| Dimension | How to measure | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Wheel diameter | Across the wheel, edge to edge | Sets ride height and capacity class |
| Wheel width | Across the tread face | Affects capacity and floor contact |
| Mounting type | Plate, threaded stem, grip ring, expanding | Determines how it attaches |
| Plate size + bolt pattern | Overall plate L x W and hole spacing | Must match for bolt-for-bolt fit |
| Stem size | Thread (e.g. 1/2-13, 3/8-16) and length | Must match the receiver |
| Load per caster | Total load ÷ number of casters | Sets minimum capacity rating |
| Floor type | Concrete, epoxy, tile, outdoor | Drives wheel material choice |
Plate casters match by overall plate size and bolt-hole pattern. Stem casters match by thread size, stem length, and retaining-ring spacing. Send the mount photo and one measurement set and we confirm the fit before you buy.
We match tread to the floor and duty: polyurethane for capacity and non-marking, rubber or TPR for quiet and grip, phenolic for heat and heavy load, stainless rigs for washdown. See our caster wheels for the full range.
Remote and nationwide support is available for caster identification and replacement matching, with no site visit required. Physical out-of-market site reviews are available only for qualified OEM and enterprise opportunities.

Send caster photos and a few measurements. We will identify or match the replacement and return a quoted, PO-ready specification.
Often yes, especially with a clear side and top photo plus a couple of measurements. Markings on the wheel or rig help, but we can match by dimensions even when there is no part number.
We cross-reference to a current caster that matches the mount, capacity, and wheel so it fits and performs like the original, or better.
Approximate is fine to start. Wheel diameter and width, mount type, and a load estimate get us close; we confirm exact fit before you order.
Yes. Caster identification and replacement matching is remote and available nationwide. No site visit is required.
Yes. Once we match one, we can build a standard replacement spec across similar assets. See our caster standardization program.
