BBQ pit and smoker casters — high-temperature heat-resistant wheels for outdoor cooking equipment. Phenolic wheels rated to 500°F, semi-steel for extreme heat, polyurethane for cooler applications. 200 to 1,500 lb per caster. Built for the heat, weather, and weight of large BBQ pits, offset smokers, trailer pits, and competition cookers. Stocked at our Mansfield, TX facility.
BBQ pit and smoker casters need three things standard casters don't: heat tolerance (the pit body radiates significant heat to the casters), outdoor weather durability (rain, UV, humidity), and weight capacity for large pit builds (offset smokers run 400-1,500+ lb).
Phenolic wheels handle 350-500°F continuous. Semi-steel handles higher. Polyurethane melts above 180°F — only use on cooler pit ends or trailer-mounted setups where the wheels aren't under the firebox.
Backyard pit: 200-400 lb. Offset smoker: 600-1,000 lb. Trailer-mounted competition rig: 1,500+ lb total.
Zinc-plated or powder-coated frames resist rust. Sealed bearings handle moisture. Avoid bare steel frames outdoors.
Total lock casters keep the pit stationary during cooking. Important when wind, vibration, or someone bumping the pit could shift it.
