The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.

W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

How it works

A spring plunger drops into a notch in the swivel raceway and stops the head from turning. The lock has four positions. Pull the ring and twist it to hold the plunger up, and the caster swivels freely [S1].

When to use one

  • Long straight pushes down an aisle, where four free swivels make a cart wander.
  • Carts that sometimes need to turn in place and sometimes need to track.
  • Adding tracking to an existing cart without replacing casters.

Check fit

The lock fits plate casters with a 4 x 4-1/2 in top plate. It needs room beside the swivel head for the plunger, so check clearance on the cart frame before ordering.
