All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.

Material handling casters move carts, racks, pallet trucks, and conveyor equipment through warehouse and distribution environments where duty cycles are high and floors are rough. The right caster balances capacity, rolling resistance, and swivel geometry to cut push force and protect the operator. For most carts, a 5 to 8 in polyurethane or thermoplastic wheel on a kingpinless swivel is the workhorse. CasterHQ stocks the full range with same-day shipping.

On rough dock floors and expansion joints, we push customers to the largest wheel diameter the equipment will accept before we touch the tread compound. Diameter beats durometer for rolling over a gap. An 8 in wheel clears an expansion joint that stops a 4 in wheel cold, and it drops push force at the same time.

Our team specs material handling casters by load per caster, floor and environment, mount, and any compliance the application demands, then confirms fit before you order. We stock the range for same-day shipping from Mansfield, Texas, so replacements do not stall your equipment.
Take the total loaded weight, divide by the number of casters (typically four), then add a 25 to 30 percent safety factor for uneven loading and dynamic shock. Size each caster to that per-caster figure.
A kingpinless caster replaces the single kingpin bolt with a hardened raceway. It survives shock and impact that shear conventional kingpins, which makes it the standard for towlines and high-cycle carts.
Polyurethane and thermoplastic rubber give low rolling resistance while staying non-marking. Larger diameter reduces push force further. For ergonomic programs, prioritize diameter and a resilient poly tread.
Yes, with larger diameter wheels and, for severe transitions, spring-loaded shock-absorbing casters. Both reduce the jolt that damages loads and fatigues operators.
A common four-caster layout uses two swivel and two rigid for straight tracking with maneuverability. All-swivel improves tight-space handling; add a swivel lock for directional control on long runs.
Yes. We carry load wheels, steer wheels, and shock-absorbing kingpinless casters rated for sustained tow and pallet-truck duty, in stock for same-day shipping.
