Three-wheel dollies, also called tri-wheel, cup or tripod dollies, for moving machines, crates and legged equipment. Cast iron, aluminum, semi-steel and steel models rated 375 to 1,500 lb each, or 1,500 to 6,000 lb per set of four.

Place one dolly under each corner or leg, so the load rides on several dollies at once. The listings note a recessed center that holds legged equipment, and that set ratings assume the weight is spread evenly [S1]. Three wheels on each dolly let it turn in any direction, which helps with long or awkward loads in tight rooms.

From 375 lb for the cast iron dolly with hard rubber wheels to 1,500 lb for the Model 4200 steel dolly. Sets of four are rated 1,500 to 6,000 lb with the weight spread evenly.
Usually one under each corner or leg, so four for most loads. Divide the load by the number of dollies and keep each under its rating.
Hard rubber is the softest tread here. Nylon, phenolic and cast iron are harder and roll easier on concrete.
