All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.
The 5-inch wheel is the versatile middle of the light-to-medium range — tall enough to roll over cords, thresholds, and minor floor transitions, small enough to keep equipment compact and the deck low. Across phenolic, polyurethane, and rubber treads, the 5-inch diameter covers a huge span of carts, fixtures, and light equipment.

A 5-inch wheel clears the everyday obstacles a 3 or 4 inch wheel catches on — power cords, door thresholds, floor-tile transitions, small debris — without the weight, cost, or deck height of a 6 or 8 inch wheel. It's the default size for display fixtures, service carts, light equipment dollies, and institutional carts: enough roll-over ability for real-world floors, compact enough for tight spaces.
The 5-inch diameter comes in tread widths from 1 inch (light, narrow) to 2 inches (medium-duty), in phenolic, polyurethane, and rubber. Narrow 5x1 for light display and service carts; 5x1-1/4 and 5x2 for heavier equipment. Phenolic for hard dry floors and low rolling resistance, polyurethane for floor protection and quiet roll, rubber for the softest, most cushioned ride.
