CasterHQ's 10-inch diameter by 3-inch tread width Red Ductile Steel Wheels is made out of Ductile Iron, extra thick-walled, heavy-duty core hub, and tread. These wheels have a 45,000 PSI rating and can withstand up to 800° degrees Fahrenheit. Ductile Steel Wheels have a high ductility tensile strength meaning these wheels can absorb shock and impact without shattering like most steel wheels. These steel wheels are great for applications that require a high weight capacity with strict safety standards. Ductile Steel wheels are ideal for Heavy Duty applications where a standard polyurethane tread wheel cannot handle the weight of the application. Steel wheels can cause uneven concrete to chip or further degrade if you are rolling these over obstacles or gaps in the floors. If you have a smooth concrete floor these wheels should be fine as long as they are not being dropped onto the floor. These wheels can withstand up to 800° degrees Fahrenheit but the standard roller bearings can start to become brittle and eventually fail and you will need to replace the bearings if they are used frequently over 400° degrees F. This type of wheel is commonly used in high heat applications including powder coating due to its strength and durability.
