The plastic socket is designed for applications in conjunction with our 5/16" x 1-1/2" tapered where the outer diameter of the desired application is 7/16" OD Grip Neck (or Wood) stem casters here
To install: Drill a 7/16" x 1-5/8" hole in the wood, insert the socket. Once installed, insert the caster's grip neck stem inside the plastic socket until secure. Some of our customers have mentioned it's easier to pre-grease the socket or stem to make it easier to insert since the tolerance is so tight. This particular socket # S-PS01A is one of the most commonly used plastic sockets used to attach casters to furniture, chairs, or any hole with an inner diameter of 7/16". This fits all industry-standard grip neck stem casters with the grip neck stem measuring 5/16" diameter x 1-1/2 long". The easiest way to add mobility to any piece of wood furniture or item.
