This listing is for a 6-inch diameter by a 2-inch tread width kingpinless Swivel Caster combined with a heavy-duty ductile iron wheel. Kingpinless Casters offer exceptional maneuverability and prevent kingpin failures commonly seen on standard casters due to severe shock loading. The top plate and inner raceway are integrally forged construction, and the caster is precision machined and induction hardened with a sealed raceway which provides exceptionally smooth performance. The legs are double welded, and the swivel ball bearings are 3/8" Diameter HRC45 steel which absorbs thrust and load in severe environments. The steel is made from ASTM 1045 Hot Forged Steel. Ductile Iron Wheels offer a 70,000 PSI tensile strength for heavy impact and shock load applications. These wheels should never be dropped on the floor as they are incredibly heavy-duty and can damage concrete. The swivels and Rigids both contain an 8MM thick steel construction which is thicker than any standard top plate caster of this size.
The product options on the right-hand side, such as the bearing type, shows an image of the type of bearing that will come pre-installed inside of the wheel and caster. This wheel comes standard with a 3/4" roller bearing and 1/2" spanner bushing if no option is selected. The roller bearing will roll easier than a bronze bearing, but bronze bearings are more resistant to corrosion, wear, and high temperatures. Bronze bearings are commonly used in many high-temperature applications, including powder coating.
