1Always measure your existing hub. Hub length is the #1 fitment mistake — a 2-1/4" offset hub will not fit a bracket built for a 4" centered hub. Pull the old wheel and measure before ordering.
2Bigger diameter rolls easier. Going from 8" to 10" cuts push effort meaningfully on cracks, gravel, and thresholds. Pick the larger wheel any time you have clearance.
3Match the axle bore. Most flat-free wheels run a 1/2" or 5/8" axle. Bring your old axle bolt to the bench so you order the right bore the first time.
4Don’t downgrade an outdoor cart to hard plastic. If you’re rolling on gravel, dirt, or mulch, stay with flat-free or pneumatic — small hard wheels will beat your equipment to death.
