All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.

For concrete floors, polyurethane-on-iron or cast iron wheels are the top choice. They roll easily, resist chips and gouges from cracks or debris, and handle loads from 500 lb to 10,000+ lb per caster. Avoid soft rubber on rough concrete, it wears fast.
Bigger wheels roll easier, handle obstacles better, and last longer. As a rule: 4" for light loads under 300 lb, 5"–6" for medium industrial carts, 8"–10" for heavy-duty applications over 1,000 lb per caster, and 12"+ for extreme duty. Match wheel material to floor type and load.
Use plate casters when you have a flat mounting surface and want maximum load capacity and stability. Use stem casters (threaded, expanding, or grip-ring) when you need to fit into a tube, leg, or chair base. Plate casters handle more weight; stem casters install faster in round tubing.
Add the total loaded cart weight (cart + max payload), divide by 3 instead of 4 (in case one caster lifts off uneven floors), then add a 33% safety margin. Example: 2,000 lb total ÷ 3 = 667 lb, × 1.33 = 890 lb per caster minimum.
