All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.

This series is for our 5/16" x 1-1/2" Grip Neck Stem Casters. Grip Neck Stem Casters are commonly referred to as wood stem casters. These casters are made to mount in wood furniture. Grip neck Stem Casters almost always need to be used with a metal wood socket before installing in wooded furniture. These metal sockets have teeth at the base with a hollow tube that is meant to be inserted inside the wood to allow you to mount the casters. The spikes on the bottom of the socket are meant to be hammered into the furniture after the hole is drilled into the furniture for the socket to be inserted appropriately. After the metal socket is inserted into the furniture, you will use these Grip Neck Stem casters as seen below to insert into the metal socket, these casters will pop into the sockets, and no further adjustments will be needed. Then your furniture will now be safely outfitted with a furniture caster. Long story short, These casters need a socket that would be permanently fixed to the unit you are planning to mount the caster to. This will allow the grip neck stem caster to quickly and safely pop into place.
The most commonly used Socket used in conjunction with these casters can be purchased here.
These calculators apply to any caster application—even if you’re browsing a different category. Use them to estimate load rating per caster, select wheel material, and estimate push/pull force. Expand any tool for full analysis + a share-ready spec line.
