All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.
Our Rear Skid Wheels & Casters are specially designed to protect the rear of your RV, camper, or motor home from skidding or scratching when navigating ramps in parking lots or similar terrains. These casters are attached to the rear of your vehicle, providing essential protection and preventing damage during low-speed maneuvers.
When selecting skid wheels, it’s important to consider more than just load capacity—think about the manual effort required and the specific conditions where they’ll be used. Ideal for preventing skidding and ensuring smooth transitions on ramps, these rear skid casters are perfect for preserving the integrity of your RV or camper.
We recommend rigid skid casters, as swivels may not align properly during travel and could break under stress. Choose from resilient rubber tires, which may leave marks on concrete, or non-marking polyurethane tires, which offer less resilience but prevent unsightly streaks. Over time, tires will wear out, but replacing just the wheel is a cost-effective solution compared to replacing the entire caster. For applications involving mechanical movement, consult us for a customized capacity rating tailored to your specific needs.
These calculators apply to any caster application—even if you’re browsing a different category. Use them to estimate load rating per caster, select wheel material, and estimate push/pull force. Expand any tool for full analysis + a share-ready spec line.
