W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

You get three phenolic casters here from Hamilton with 10 in wheels, rated 2,500 to 2,900 lb each. Every one uses a 5-1/4 x 7-1/4 in top plate, in both swivel and rigid, and none has a brake. Two examples are a Hamilton CH-10PH 10 x 2 1/2 in Plastex phenolic swivel caster rated 2,500 lb and a Hamilton CH-13PH 10 x 3 in Plastex phenolic swivel caster rated 2,900 lb. Temperature ratings sit at Up to 250°F for most of the page.
