The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.

W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

4" x 2" Casters

Plate sizes: 4-1/2 x 6Diameter: 4 inTread: 2 inCapacity: up to 1,600 lb

Casters on the 4-1/2 x 6 plate pattern suit warehouse carts, racks, and everyday plant fixtures. Expect wheel diameters 4 in and capacities 800 to 1,600 lb. Confirm stem length and thread pitch on stem mounts so the shoulder seats flush in the boss. Replace worn corners in matched sets when possible so the cart tracks straight under load. These medium-duty options cover everyday warehouse carts, racks, and everyday plant fixtures without jumping to extreme forged series.
