W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

The common top plate is 5-1/2 x 7-1/2 in, with 6-1/8 x 7-1/2 in also offered, in both swivel and rigid, and none has a brake. You will find a Hamilton R-EHD-6MH 6 x 2 1/2 in metal rigid caster rated 2,200 lb and a Hamilton S-EHD-63MB 6 x 3 in metal swivel sealed caster rated 2,500 lb here. Most are rated for -40°F to 320°F.
