The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.

W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

You get four steel casters here from Hamilton with 6 in wheels, rated 3,500 to 5,000 lb each. Most use a 5-1/2 x 7-1/2 in top plate, with 6-1/8 x 7-1/2 in also offered, in both swivel and rigid, with no brake options. Examples include a Hamilton R-EHD-6FSH 6 x 2 1/2 in forged steel rigid caster rated 3,500 lb and a Hamilton S-EHD-63FSB 6 x 3 in forged steel swivel caster rated 5,000 lb. Most are rated for -40°F to 320°F.
