The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.

W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

This page lists two polyurethane casters with 6 in wheels, rated 1,800 lb each, made by Hamilton. Every one uses a 5-1/4 x 7-1/4 in top plate, in both swivel and rigid. You will find a Hamilton 6 x 3 in Ergo-Glide rigid caster rated 1,800 lb and a Hamilton 6 x 3 in Ergo-Glide swivel caster rated 1,800 lb here.

As the name infers, the Ergo-Glide® wheel (formerly named Poly-Soft®) is well suited for ergonomic applications due to it's low startup and maintain push/pull force. This wheel is also the employee favorite and our wheel of choice for internal operations for it's balance of excellent rollability and durability.
