The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.

W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

You get four polyurethane casters here from Hamilton with 8 in wheels, rated 2,500 to 3,400 lb each. Most mount on a 5-1/4 x 7-1/4 in plate, in both swivel and rigid and without brakes. Two examples are a Hamilton R-CH-83GB95 8 x 3 in DuraGlide rigid caster rated 2,500 lb and a Hamilton S-CH-83GB95 8 x 3 in DuraGlide swivel caster rated 3,400 lb.
