The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.

W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

You get two polyurethane casters here from Hamilton with 8 in wheels, rated 2,000 lb each. The top plate is 5-1/4 x 7-1/4 in on all of them, in both swivel and rigid. Examples include a Hamilton R-CH-83SPB 8 x 3 in Ergo-Glide rigid caster rated 2,000 lb and a Hamilton S-CH-83SPB 8 x 3 in Ergo-Glide swivel caster rated 2,000 lb.

As the name infers, the Ergo-Glide® wheel (formerly named Poly-Soft®) is well suited for ergonomic applications due to it's low startup and maintain push/pull force. This wheel is also the employee favorite and our wheel of choice for internal operations for it's balance of excellent rollability and durability.
