All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.
The Manner Twist is a high-capacity twin-wheel medical caster engineered for hospital beds, treatment chairs, patient lifts, and hospital trolleys. Its distinguishing feature is an intuitive brake pedal that visually indicates the lock status — a real safety win for nursing staff on a busy floor. Load-bearing, very sturdy, yet easy to maneuver. Glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide construction in two height profiles. 125 mm wheel, 125 kg per caster capacity.
The Manner Twist is a high-capacity twin-wheel medical caster built around an intuitive brake pedal that visually indicates whether the lock is engaged — a feature designed specifically for nursing staff who need to verify brake status at a glance during patient transfer. The twin-wheel architecture gives the Twist a 125 kg-per-caster rating (versus the single-wheel Tango's 100 kg ceiling), making it the standard spec for hospital beds, treatment chairs, patient lifts, and heavy hospital trolleys. Available in two heights, standard color is RAL 7035 light grey with a red pedal. Customizable: frame color, pedal color, centre and cover plate, and logo can all be specified for OEM builds.
Match the brake variant to your equipment's primary use, the height profile to your chassis design, and the surface variant (standard / conductive / stainless) to your facility's clean-environment and regulatory needs.
| Variant | Use case | Distinguishing feature |
|---|---|---|
| Twist Total-Stop | Hospital beds, patient lifts, crash carts | Foot pedal locks wheel + swivel; visual lock indicator on pedal |
| Twist Directional-Lock | Treatment chairs, exam tables, procedure-room rails | Locks swivel only — predictable straight-line tracking |
| Twist Plain Swivel | Support casters on multi-caster arrays (typically rear) | Full 360° swivel without brake mechanism |
| Twist Conductive (ESD) | OR suites, electronics carts, ESD-protected equipment | Conductive compound dissipates static charge |
| Twist Stainless | Autoclave-adjacent, chemical exposure environments | Stainless steel fork + axle hardware |
| Twist Low-Profile | Compact chassis, lift platforms, integrated dollies | Reduced overall height for tight clearance applications |
| Twist Custom Color / Logo | OEM equipment branding | Custom frame, pedal, centre, and cover plate color; OEM logo |
4-caster Twist Total-Stop array on standard hospital bed chassis. Visual brake-lock indicator gives nursing staff instant verification during patient transfer and turning procedures.
Twist Total-Stop variant with reinforced bolt-hole mount. Handles dynamic lift cycling and lateral patient transfer loads without fatigue or brake drift.
Twist Directional-Lock for predictable straight-line tracking on procedure room rails. Patient stays centered during exam or treatment positioning.
Twist 125 mm Total-Stop for heavy supply trolleys, code carts, and PPE distribution carts. Quiet rolling on vinyl corridors, polyamide construction is wipe-down compatible.
Twist Low-Profile variant on rehab beds, transfer platforms, and parallel-bar walking aids. Lower mount height fits compact chassis designs.
Twist Conductive (ESD-safe) variant on OR-suite beds and surgical positioning equipment. ESD-safe path from equipment to floor protects sensitive monitoring electronics.
Choose Twist when load exceeds 100 kg per caster, when you need the visual brake-lock indicator (hospital beds, patient lifts, crash carts where brake verification is a safety-critical step), or when the application calls for directional-lock straight-line tracking. Choose Tango for general medical and institutional equipment under 100 kg per caster, smaller wheel diameters (75 mm or 100 mm), or where the single-wheel design is preferred for visual or clearance reasons.
Browse the Manner Tango Series → if your application is general hospital furniture, kitchen equipment, rehab equipment, or shop/office equipment under 100 kg per caster.
CasterHQ operates Caster Doctor, an on-site service for Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex hospitals, surgery centers, long-term care, and rehab facilities. Our technicians audit your wheeled equipment (beds, lifts, treatment chairs, trolleys), match the correct Twist variant per device, quote a fixed parts + labor bid, and install on-site during off-hours.
Learn about Caster Doctor →"For OEM hospital bed and patient-lift builds, Twist is our default spec. The 125 kg per-caster rating gives you headroom on a standard bed at the 4-caster total of 500 kg, and the lock-status indicator on the pedal is what separates Twist from most competitor twin-wheels — nursing teams can verify brake engagement from across the room without bending down to inspect. We've also spec'd Twist for rehab transfer platforms and OR-table positioning equipment because the twin-wheel design rolls smoother under high dynamic load than any single-wheel of comparable diameter."
Twist is rated 125 kg (275 lb) per caster on the standard 125 mm twin-wheel configuration. A 4-caster array supports 500 kg (1,100 lb) total equipment + occupant + accessory load with a 30% safety margin — covering standard hospital beds, patient lifts, and heavy hospital trolleys.
The Twist pedal is designed so the position of the foot pedal itself visually communicates whether the brake is engaged or released. Nursing staff can verify brake status from across the room without bending down to inspect, which is a measurable safety improvement during patient transfer and turning procedures.
Total-stop locks both wheel rotation and swivel pivot in a single motion — used on hospital beds, patient lifts, and crash carts where the equipment must stay completely stationary. Directional-lock only locks the swivel pivot, so the wheel still rolls forward and back, just on a fixed straight-line heading — used on treatment chairs, exam tables, and procedure-room rails where you want the equipment to roll along a known path without veering.
Yes. Conductive (ESD-safe) Twist variants are available for OR suites and ESD-protected environments. Stainless steel variants are available for autoclave-adjacent and aggressive-chemical environments. Specify the variant on your RFQ and our engineering team will identify the correct Manner item number.
Yes. For larger order quantities, Manner produces custom-color Twist casters in which the frame, pedal, centre, and cover plate colors can be specified independently. OEM logos can be applied to the pedal or cover plate. Specify "custom color" or "OEM branding" on your RFQ for a lead-time and pricing quote.
Twist is produced in a standard height for typical hospital bed and trolley chassis, and a low-profile height for compact equipment, lift chassis, and integrated dolly applications where vertical clearance is constrained. The product page for each Manner item number lists the exact overall height — verify against your equipment's mounting envelope before specifying.
Yes. Caster Doctor is our on-site DFW healthcare caster service. We audit your facility, recommend the right Twist variant per device, quote a fixed parts + labor bid, and install on-site during off-hours.
CasterHQ has specified, sold, and serviced medical and industrial casters in the DFW metroplex for over a decade. Our engineers review every quote against application load, floor surface, regulatory environment (NSF, ESD, MRI-compat), and OEM mounting requirements before recommending a SKU.
