Hamilton UltraGlide EHD Wheels — Extra-Heavy-Duty

UltraGlide EHD is the extra-heavy-duty build of Hamilton's UltraGlide polyurethane — the same low-rolling-resistance, long-life compound, mounted on heavier Extra-Heavy-Duty rigging and rated to 5,000 lb per wheel. It's UltraGlide for applications where the rig has to be as tough as the wheel.

Wheel and rig, both upgraded

Standard UltraGlide pairs the premium wheel with standard rigging. UltraGlide EHD pairs it with Hamilton's Extra-Heavy-Duty (EHD) rig — heavier construction, kingpinless options, built for impact and continuous abuse. You spec EHD when the application punishes the whole caster, not just the wheel: rough floors, drop-loading, sustained high-cycle duty under heavy load.

Where UltraGlide EHD fits

Heavy tugger-train carts, continuous-duty transfer in foundry and steel-adjacent environments, and any extra-heavy application that still needs polyurethane's floor protection and low rolling resistance. It's the bridge between premium-wheel and heavy-rig — you get both.

Common questions

UltraGlide vs UltraGlide EHD?

Same premium wheel compound. EHD adds Hamilton's Extra-Heavy-Duty rigging — heavier, tougher, built for impact and abuse.

What's the capacity?

Up to 5,000 lb per wheel. For higher, see Hamilton's heavier kingpinless and Maxi-Duty platforms.

When do I need EHD over standard?

When the rig takes abuse — rough floors, drop-loading, continuous heavy cycling. If only the wheel works hard, standard UltraGlide suffices.
