Match a 4 x 4-1/2 top plate when bolting casters under outdoor and rough-yard carts. Typical builds show wheel diameters 6 in, pneumatic treads, and capacities 250 lb. Pair swivel and rigid casters for tracking, or use total locks where the cart must park on a grade. Air or foam-filled tires cushion gravel and cracked pavement better than hard treads.
