The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.

W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.

Colson Stainless Steel Casters by Wheel Bearing · Precision Ball Bearing · Up to 900 lb · 4"–8"

This collection holds W Precision Ball Bearing 4 casters with polyolefin, polyurethane and metal wheels, built for shop carts, equipment, and material handling carts that move heavier loads. Casters in this collection range from 500 to 900 lb per caster. Wheels in this category range from 4 up to 8 inches in diameter with a 2 in tread width. The collection includes swivel, rigid, and brake models. Polyolefin is light, low cost, and resists water and many chemicals. It is hard, so it is loud on rough floors. Polyurethane (poly or urethane) treads are quiet, floor safe, and resist water and many chemicals. Metal wheels roll with low effort and handle debris and heat. They are loud and can mark finished floors. Match plate size, bolt pattern, and overall height before you order. Choose swivel casters when the cart must turn in place and rigid casters for straight travel. Polyolefin aisle: polyolefin casters. Wheel hub: replacement wheels.
