Alstef Mobile Robotics builds automated guided vehicles — floor robots that move loads in warehouses, factories and airport logistics without a driver in the seat. The company is a subsidiary of Alstef Group. This story is about a new plant near Rennes, France, not about a U.S. order book and not about a product ban.
Alstef Group said it plans a new 13,000-square-meter facility at the La Janais Industrial Excellence Hub in Chartres-de-Bretagne, inside Rennes Métropole. Delivery is scheduled for September 2027. The company says the site is due to open in the third quarter of 2027 and will gradually bring the unit’s activities together.
How the floor breaks down, per Alstef: about 11,000 square meters of workshop and 2,000 square meters of offices. The new site is meant to consolidate work now split between Mordelles and Pacé. Construction partner named: Legendre. Advisor named: Linovim.
The production clock the company printed: a target of 300 AGVs per year by 2027. That is Alstef’s own ramp-up goal, not an independent capacity audit. Olivier Imbert, Managing Director of Alstef Mobile Robotics, called the project a major milestone for growth and further industrialisation.
On the building itself, Alstef describes a low-carbon design with structural timber and PassivHaus certification aimed at lower operating energy use and future French RE2020 rules. Those are company and project claims. This desk did not open a third-party energy certificate.
What this is not: a claim that 300 AGVs are already shipping from La Janais, a U.S. plant announcement, or a guarantee every Mordelles and Pacé role moves on day one. The published delivery month is September 2027; opening is framed as Q3 2027.
What to do with this
If you buy Alstef AGVs or plan a 2027 fleet add, ask which site will build and commission your serial numbers after the move, and how the 300-per-year target maps to lead time on your RFQ. Ask whether PassivHaus / low-carbon plant language affects your quote at all — for most buyers it will not. Treat the September 2027 delivery date as the company’s schedule until a purchase order locks a ship window.

Limits
13,000 sqm total, 11,000 workshop / 2,000 offices, La Janais / Chartres-de-Bretagne location, September 2027 delivery, Q3 2027 opening, Mordelles and Pacé consolidation, 300 AGVs/year by 2027 target, Legendre, Linovim, Olivier Imbert quote, and low-carbon / PassivHaus / RE2020 language are from Alstef Group’s facility announcement page. Capacity and schedule figures were not independently verified. Low-carbon and PassivHaus claims are company statements. CasterHQ does not sell Alstef AGVs.
