Socorro, Texas, sits on the east side of the El Paso metro. On Sept. 9, 2026, Amazon and Wiwynn said they are expanding Wiwynn’s manufacturing site there. The work is not a data-center ribbon. It is a plant that builds and integrates server systems and racks for Amazon’s cloud hardware.
Together, the companies said they expect to create nearly 1,000 new advanced manufacturing jobs by the end of 2027. Wiwynn’s investment, they said, will bring total employment at the facility to more than 2,500 next year, with 4,000 possible at full capacity. Those are company employment clocks, not a headcount this desk counted on the floor.
William Lin, president and CEO of Wiwynn, said the company is putting more than $1.6 billion into the Texas facility. Amazon’s own page frames the site as part of bringing custom hardware production into the United States. KFOX, reporting the same announcement, said the Socorro site is Wiwynn’s first U.S. manufacturing operation and put the plant at 9220 Socorro Logistics Lane. Amazon’s page does not print that street address.
What this is not: a claim that CasterHQ supplies the plant, or that server racks need a particular caster model. What it is for a Texas buyer is a dated manufacturing expansion with a jobs clock and a named product — racks and server systems — on a West Texas floor.
