LITEON Starts Buildout of McKinney AI Infrastructure Campus

LITEON Technology Corp. (Taiwan Stock Exchange: 2301) is an electronics company that, in its own “About” language carried by the McKinney Economic Development Corporation, sells AI power management, high-efficiency battery backup units (BBUs), racks and mechanical components, and liquid cooling systems aimed at next-generation AI data centers. In plain words: power, backup power, rack hardware, and cooling gear for compute rooms — not a finished hyperscale data hall that LITEON operates as a landlord.

The news: on Sept. 3, 2026, the McKinney Economic Development Corporation said LITEON marked the official start of buildout on its North American advanced manufacturing campus in McKinney, Texas. The $919 million project is expected to create at least 600 new permanent jobs in McKinney, MEDC reported. LITEON has already purchased two existing buildings totaling more than 650,000 square feet at the Core5 Logistics Center and is commencing extensive buildout and installation of specialized equipment, according to that release. The campus is described as supporting advanced manufacturing, engineering, and research.

What is not true: a ceremonial groundbreaking is not an operating plant. MEDC’s own framing is start of buildout and equipment install on purchased shells — not a claim that AI power modules or liquid-cooling skids are already shipping from McKinney at full rate. Do not confuse the ceremony with finished production.

MEDC President and CEO Michael Kowski said the company and community moved from announcement to standing on the site quickly. Mayor Bill Cox and MEDC board chairman Brian Loughmiller are also quoted on partnership and career opportunity. Those remarks are local economic-development color; the buyer-relevant clock remains buildout start plus the $919 million / ≥600 jobs / >650,000 sq ft figures MEDC printed.
