The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.

W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

The two polyurethane casters here come from Hamilton with 12 in wheels, rated 3,500 lb each. Most use a 5-1/4 x 7-1/4 in top plate, and you can pick swivel or rigid. Examples include a Hamilton CH-12DB 12 x 3 in Duralast rigid caster rated 3,500 lb and a Hamilton CH-12DB 12 x 3 in Duralast swivel caster rated 3,500 lb.

12" Duralast Wheels

Duralast- the protective wheel that wears like steel - is liquid cast to a thickness of approximately 1/2" and chemically bonded onto heavy-duty iron wheel centers. The distinctive green treads are chemically inert, non-sparking, non-conductive, impervious to ozone, grease and most oils & solvents, and will not mark floors.
