W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

4-1/2 x 6-1/2 inch top-plate casters for heavy warehouse carts, die carts, and plant fixtures. Expect wheel diameters 6 in and capacities 1,120 to 2,200 lb. Bring plate and stem measurements when replacing unmarked casters so the new corners sit level. Larger plates spread bolt stress on thick frames under continuous tow abuse. When floors see chemicals or washdowns, prefer sealed bearings and non-absorbent wheel compounds.
