The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.

W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

4 x 5 inch top-plate casters for warehouse carts, racks, and everyday plant fixtures. Expect wheel diameters 6 in, steel and stainless treads, and capacities 800 to 1,200 lb. Use kingpinless or heavy plate series when shock loads keep shearing kingpin races. Size capacity from the heaviest corner load with shock margin, and keep overall height consistent across the set. These medium-duty options cover everyday warehouse carts, racks, and everyday plant fixtures without jumping to extreme forged series.
