W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

Match a 4 x 4-1/2 top plate when bolting casters under warehouse carts on epoxy and smooth concrete. Typical builds show wheel diameters 8 in, polyurethane treads, and capacities 1,000 lb. Harder poly rolls easier on smooth epoxy; softer poly cushions vibration on uneven slabs. Confirm stem length and thread pitch on stem mounts so the shoulder seats flush in the boss.
