All measurements indicate the wheel diameter by the tread width.
The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.
W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.
Plate dimensions shown are overall mounting plate size.
When replacing existing casters, select the closest plate size and verify bolt-hole compatibility.
BHP = Bolt Hole Pattern, shown under each plate.
The B&P Senior Liberator (SSR series) is the flagship convertible hand truck. 8 SSR variants spanning loop-handle configurations with 10″ pneumatic or Carefree® foam-filled wheels. The Liberator conversion mechanism transforms the hand truck (600 lb upright capacity) into a 4-wheel platform truck (1,200 lb flat-deck capacity) in 10-15 seconds via spring-loaded pin lock. Used by freight terminals, beverage distributors, appliance delivery crews, and warehouse fleet operators who need one piece of equipment for multiple cargo types.

| SSR-3 | 10″ Carefree® foam-filled | Puncture-proof for fleet daily use |
| SSR-4 | 10″ Pneumatic | Extended-load configuration |
| SSR-5 | 10″ Carefree® foam-filled | Premium Carefree® variant |
| SSR-6 / -7 / -8 | Mixed configurations | Specialty mounting and accessory variants |
The Senior Liberator frame has a hinged transition point at the lower nose-plate area. To convert from hand truck to platform truck: (1) tilt the truck back so it rests on its rear edge, (2) fold the nose plate flat against the frame face, (3) rotate the secondary wheel assembly down into contact with the floor, (4) verify the spring-loaded pin engages to lock the configuration. The reverse process returns to hand truck mode in 10-15 seconds. The aircraft-grade rivets at every joint plus 4-sided cross-member frame design distribute load across all four sides of the structure rather than concentrating stress at corners.
The result: a hand truck that survives daily commercial use for 8-12 years before frame replacement — significantly longer than welded-steel competitors that crack at the weld joints under repeated impact loading.
Senior (SSR): 600 lb hand truck mode, 1,200 lb platform mode. Frame 18″ W x 50″ H. Junior (SJR): 500 lb hand truck, 800 lb platform. Frame 14″ W x 44″ H. Senior is the standard commercial spec; Junior is for tighter aisles and smaller doorways. See Junior Convertibles for the SJR catalog.
Pneumatic: best shock absorption, but susceptible to puncture from screws and nails on warehouse floors. Carefree®: closed-cell foam fill preserves ~90% of pneumatic shock absorption with zero puncture risk. Spec Carefree® (SSR-3 or SSR-5) for fleet daily use; spec pneumatic for cost-sensitive lighter-duty applications.
15-20 years of daily commercial use before the spring-loaded pin requires replacement. Replacement spring kits stocked at info@casterhq.com if your existing SSR pin starts to slip.
Yes — B&P’s frame designs include accessory rail mounting points along the back. Cross straps, lashing buckles, side-loading rails are available as add-on accessories. Email info@casterhq.com with the desired accessory and SSR variant for compatibility check.
Magliner and Wesco make solid aluminum-frame hand trucks at a slightly lower price point. The B&P Senior Liberator’s advantage is the convertible platform mode (Magliner/Wesco don’t offer comparable conversion mechanism) and the aircraft-grade rivet construction at every joint. For multi-purpose material handling, Senior Liberator pays back the cost premium. For single-purpose upright stacking, Magliner is the cost-effective alternative.
