Platform truck or shelf cart?

Platform truck: one low, open deck for big, heavy or awkward loads such as boxes, sacks, doors and machines. Best when the load is heavy and you push it on flat floors.
Shelf cart: two shelves for parts, tools and supplies. Lower ratings, but more surface and easier picking.
Studio and mattress carts: for tall, flat items that travel on edge.

Oak or aluminum

The oak platform trucks have a solid wood deck that takes knocks. The B&P aluminum flatbeds are lighter to push empty and do not rot or rust, which helps in wet areas and trailers. Both are rated 2,000 lb [S1].

Keep them rolling

Platform trucks wear out casters long before decks. Replacement wheels are on the caster wheels page, and plate casters by size are on cart casters. For powered pallet moves use pallet jacks.
