What it is

The Tango series explained

The Manner Tango is a precision single-wheel medical caster designed for applications that demand a top-quality, durable, corrosion-free, and stylish caster. The maintenance-free Tango is manufactured from glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide — the same material family used in surgical instrument trays and high-temperature autoclave fixtures — with a red total-stop foot pedal that locks both wheel and swivel in a single motion. Standard frame color is RAL 7042 grey; the design is suited to hospitals, rehabilitation centers, institutional kitchens, restaurants, retail, office, and factory environments. Custom frame and pedal colors are available for larger order quantities.

Sizing guide

How to choose the right Tango caster

Match wheel diameter to your equipment's vertical clearance, load capacity to per-caster weight plus a 30% safety margin, and variant (standard / conductive / non-magnetic / stainless) to your facility's regulatory and clean-environment requirements.

  • 75 mm (2.95"): Low-clearance applications — shower chairs, narrow assistive devices, compact serving trolleys, low-profile shop equipment. 70-90 kg per caster typical.
  • 100 mm (3.94"): General-purpose medical and institutional equipment — rehabilitation equipment, hospital furniture, kitchen carts, office furniture. 80-100 kg per caster typical.
  • 125 mm (4.92"): Higher load and rougher floor surfaces — institutional kitchen heavy-duty trolleys, factory equipment, larger shop equipment. 90-100 kg per caster typical.
  • Variant choice: Conductive (ESD-safe) for OR suites and electronics-sensitive carts · Non-magnetic for MRI-environment equipment, IV stands, imaging accessories · Stainless for autoclave-adjacent or chemical-exposure environments.
  • Mounting: Bolt-hole (most common), plate, and threaded-stem variants are all produced across the Tango range — specify mounting type on your RFQ.
Engineering note: ~70 mm of vertical clearance accommodates ~95% of Tango bolt-hole installations across the size range. For tight clearances, verify swivel radius (75-110 mm depending on diameter).

Single vs twin wheel

Tango vs. Twist — when to choose Tango

Choose Tango when load is under ~100 kg per caster, when you need a smaller wheel diameter for clearance, or when the application is general-purpose medical, institutional, or commercial. Choose Twist when load exceeds 100 kg per caster, when you need the visual brake-lock indicator (hospital beds, patient lifts), or when you need the heavier-duty twin-wheel design for repeated high-load cycling. For 4-caster arrays carrying hospital beds, lifts, or crash carts, Twist is the standard spec; for everything else, Tango is the right choice.

Browse the Manner Twist Series → if your application is hospital beds, treatment chairs, patient lifts, or 125 kg+ per caster loads.

Engineer's note

"Tango is what we recommend when a facility tells us their existing zinc-plated steel casters are corroding within 18 months under daily wipe-down with quaternary ammonium disinfectants. The polyamide fork eliminates that failure mode entirely. For the broad middle of the hospital cart fleet — supply trolleys, IV stands, treatment carts, bedside cabinets — Tango is the safest spec because it handles the load class, fits the standard mounting patterns, and doesn't introduce maintenance overhead. We stock the full 145-SKU range so quote-to-install can happen in the same week."

Buyer FAQ

Manner Tango caster questions

What load capacity does the Tango caster handle?

Tango is rated 70-100 kg (155-220 lb) per caster depending on wheel diameter and variant. A standard 4-caster array supports 280-400 kg total equipment + occupant load with a 30% safety margin. For loads above 100 kg per caster, specify the Twist series instead.

Is the Tango conductive variant truly ESD-safe?

Yes. The Tango Conductive variant uses a conductive polyamide compound and conductive tread material that creates a continuous electrical path from equipment frame to floor. Surface resistance falls within the ESD-safe range for use in operating rooms, ESD-protected electronics workstations, and ATEX-rated environments where applicable.

Is the Tango non-magnetic variant MRI-compatible?

Yes. The non-magnetic Tango uses zero ferrous content in the fork and axle hardware, preventing magnetic field distortion and eliminating projectile risk in MRI suites. Specify "non-magnetic" or "MRI compatible" on your RFQ and we will recommend the correct Manner item number for your application.

What mounting options are available?

Tango is produced with bolt-hole (most common, M8 or M10), top-plate, and threaded-stem fittings across the size range. Bolt-hole pattern, plate dimensions, and stem spec vary by SKU — the product page lists the exact mounting for each Manner item number. For non-standard mounting, contact our engineering team and we will identify the closest stock match or quote a custom build.

How fast can Tango casters ship?

3-5 business days from purchase order for standard SKUs from our Mansfield, Texas warehouse. Custom colors, non-standard tread compounds, and large-volume OEM builds ship from Manner's Hanko, Finland factory with a 4-8 week lead time — specify if you need standard versus custom on your RFQ.

Can I get STEP CAD files for Tango casters?

Yes. Every Tango product page includes a direct STEP file download for that exact Manner item number. The file imports natively into SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, Creo, NX, and CATIA. PARASOLID and SAT formats are also available on request.

Do you provide installation service for DFW hospitals?

Yes. Caster Doctor is our on-site DFW healthcare caster service. We audit your facility, recommend the right Tango variant per device, quote a fixed parts + labor bid, and install on-site during off-hours to minimize disruption.
