Stainless Steel Casters

These stainless steel casters fit washdown carts, food service lines, and corrosive stands. Casters in this collection range from about 175 to 2,000 lb per caster. The legacy handle says 1,250 lb. Active titles reach 2,000 lb on poly-on-aluminum and nylon kingpinless builds. Soft rubber or polyurethane (poly or urethane) protects finished kitchen floors. Soft polyurethane on aluminum (~85 Shore A) or TPR is the better pick when the floor has chips or grit. Match plate or stem before you order. Choose swivel casters when the cart must turn in place, rigid casters for straight travel, and add a brake or total lock when the cart needs to stay put. Read the listing for the exact wheel size, overall height, and mount shown. Confirm the load rating printed on the title before you place your order today. Capacities below are per caster unless a listing says set. Full 304 aisle: 304 stainless steel casters. Food service aisle: food service casters.

Choosing stainless steel casters

  1. Load: plan on three casters carrying a four-caster cart [S2]; at 1,200 lb each, a common mid-range rating here, that is about 3,600 lb, and the 2,000 lb top rating covers about 6,000 lb.
  2. Mount: most stainless steel casters use a 4 x 4-1/2 in top plate; measure bolt hole centers on the old plate and compare.
  3. Floor: on stainless steel casters, polyurethane and rubber are kinder to tile and finished floors; nylon, polyolefin and phenolic roll easier under heavy loads on smooth concrete.
  4. Rig: swivel and rigid stainless steel casters are listed.
