Track Casters & Wheels — Flanged, V-Groove, U-Groove

Track casters keep equipment on a defined path — flanged, V-grooved, and U-grooved wheels that ride steel rail so carts route themselves with zero drift and zero operator steering. The range spans 380 lb light guided carts to 16,000 lb heavy transfer-line equipment.

The three track-wheel types

Flanged wheels have a lip on one or both sides that hangs over the rail edge — like a train wheel. V-grooved wheels ride an angle-iron rail in a machined V channel. U-grooved wheels ride round pipe or bar. All three deliver the same outcome — hands-free fixed-path travel — and the right one depends entirely on what rail is in your facility or what you can install.

Where track casters earn their place

Assembly-line indexing where carts must hit exact positions, tow-line trains that follow a loop, transfer between fixed stations, and any operation where letting a cart drift off-path costs time or causes collisions. The rail does the work the operator otherwise has to — repeatable, every cycle.

Common questions

Flanged, V-groove, or U-groove?

Flanged hangs over the rail edge; V-groove rides angle iron; U-groove rides round pipe. Pick by your existing or planned rail.

How much can track casters carry?

From 380 lb light guided carts up to 16,000 lb per wheel on heavy V-groove or flanged builds.

Do I need rail on the floor?

Yes — track casters require a matching rail. The rail is what provides the guidance.
