FEATURES: Ultraviolet technology is a non-chemical approach to disinfection. It is a “turn-key” solution that makes the process simple, inexpensive, and requires very little maintenance. Nemesis radiators and ballasts are specifically designed to produce a more exact dosage of ultraviolet light. UV-C radiation will disinfect anything in or around the light’s path, deactivating bacteria and viruses in the air, as well as on and around surfaces. They can be operated from a key fob or a web application, which can be used to schedule disinfection. All of the Nemesis products come equipped with safety features like audible and visual alerts during use, warning alarms, and motion-activated temporary shutdown modes. It’s important to note that out of the electromagnetic spectrum, there are three wave lengths of ultraviolet light. UV-C, the most effective of the three, deactivates the DNA and RNA of bacteria, virus, and other pathogens, destroying their ability to replicate. The three basic wavelengths to consider are: Short wavelength UV-C includes the germicidal wavelength of 253.7 nm and is considered the most effective wavelength for germicidal disinfection. Proper PPE and safety measures are to be implemented when using UV-C. Medium wavelength UV-B is a more dangerous band of UV, and prolonged exposure has been associated with skin cancer, skin aging, and cataracts. Long wavelength UV-A is more predominant outdoors than the other two, tanning your skin and used in medicine to treat certain skin disorders.
