The below capacity ranges indicate the working (dynamic) load that each caster will support. A safety factor should be included in your formula to determine your required load rating per caster.

W/(C-1)=R W is total weight needed to move. C is total number of casters required. R is ideal load rating, with safety factor built in. Divide the total load weight by one less caster than you will use to safely determine load rating.

6" x 3" Nylon Casters

Plate sizes: 4-1/2 x 6-1/8, 6-1/4 x 7-1/2Diameter: 6 inTread: 3 inCapacity: up to 7,200 lb

Casters on the 4-1/2 x 6-1/8 plate pattern suit chemical, food-contact, and washdown carts. Expect wheel diameters 6 in, nylon treads, and capacities 7,200 lb. When floors see chemicals or washdowns, prefer sealed bearings and non-absorbent wheel compounds. Larger plates spread bolt stress on thick frames under continuous tow abuse. Pair swivel and rigid casters for tracking, or use total locks where the cart must park on a grade.
