W/ Phenolic Wheels

Light-Duty Institutional Plate Casters (Phenolic)

Light-duty institutional plate casters configured with phenolic resin wheels for commercial and industrial carts operating on smooth, dry floors. Commonly specified where dimensional stability and resistance to oils and solvents are required.

Wheel material
Phenolic resin with macerated canvas reinforcement
Best suited for
Clean, dry environments with chemical exposure concerns

Standard configuration envelope

Mounting and dimensional standards
  • Mounting plate: 2-3/8" × 3-5/8"
  • Bolt hole pattern: 1-3/4" × 2-7/8", slotted to 3"
  • Wheel diameters: 3"–5"
  • Typical capacity: 300–350 lbs per caster (model dependent)
Material and rolling performance

Phenolic wheels are compression-molded under high pressure and temperature, producing a hard, non-metallic wheel with strong load-bearing performance. The macerated canvas reinforcement improves structural integrity and dimensional stability under load.

Phenolic offers excellent resistance to oils, grease, gasoline, and many mild chemicals, making it a common choice for environments where contamination would degrade rubber or polyurethane wheels.

Application considerations
  • Best performance on smooth, dry concrete floors
  • Hard tread rolls efficiently and resists flat-spotting under static loads
  • Not recommended for uneven floors, debris, or damaged surfaces
  • Avoid continuous moisture or washdown exposure, which may cause swelling or degradation
Common applications
  • Institutional and commercial carts
  • Clean, dry warehouse environments
  • Food processing areas without washdown
  • Facilities with oil or solvent exposure concerns
