With a load capacity of 450 lbs at 3 mph, a wheel diameter of 4 inches, and a face width of 1.5 inches, it ensures balanced support and versatile maneuvering. The overall height stands at 5.375 inches with a swivel offset of 1.375 inches, and it is equipped with a 3 1/8 x 4 1/8 inches mounting plate for stable installation.
The caster is finished in Bright Zinc Plated for corrosion resistance and longevity. It incorporates Straight Roller bearings for smooth movement and a Cold Forged/Stamped Caster Rig Type for enhanced strength. The Phenolic core wheel material adds to its durability, and it comes with an easily replaceable wheel code W-415-P-5/8.

This Hamilton S-HL-4P 4" x 1.5" Plastex Phenolic Swivel Caster – 450 lb is rated to 450 lbs per caster. Size a set by dividing the total load by the number of casters, and for uneven floors assume 3 of 4 casters carry the load. Keep continuous-use loads within about 75-80% of the rating.
This caster runs a Phenolic wheel. Phenolic carries high loads on smooth, hard floors and tolerates heat, but transmits more shock than an elastomer tread.
This caster uses a top-plate mount with a 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" plate and a 1-3/4" x 2-15/16" slotted to 2-3/8" x 3-3/8" bolt pattern. Measure your existing mounting holes before ordering; if you are replacing casters, match the bolt pattern - most standard patterns interchange across brands.
This is a Swivel caster. Swivel casters rotate 360 degrees for full maneuverability. For most mobile equipment we recommend 2 swivel + 2 rigid, or 4 swivel with at least 2 brakes.
Rated for Up to 250°F. Operating outside the rated range can reduce wheel life and load capacity, so match it to your environment (wash-down, freezer, oven-adjacent, etc.).
The Phenolic wheel performs best on smooth, hard industrial floors. For non-marking or clean-environment needs, ask us about matching tread options.
The overall height (floor to top of plate or stem) is 5.375". Account for it when checking equipment clearance, dock height, and ergonomic working height.
