This heavy duty spring loaded gate wheel is engineered to eliminate gate sag, reduce drag, and allow large wooden or steel gates to open smoothly on uneven surfaces. Rated for up to 1,000 lbs, it is the go-to solution for residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial gate applications where reliability and load handling matter.
The spring-loaded mechanism automatically adjusts to changes in terrain, supporting the gate's weight while maintaining consistent ground contact. The 8-inch solid blue polyurethane wheel provides excellent durability, quiet rolling, and resistance to flat-spotting under static loads.
Unlike rigid gate wheels, spring-loaded gate wheels actively compensate for gate sag caused by weight or hinge wear, uneven ground, gravel, concrete transitions, and slopes, and seasonal ground movement and settling. The result is a gate that opens and closes smoothly with less strain on hinges, posts, and operators.
This caster is rated for up to 1,000 lbs per unit. For heavier gates, we recommend using two casters — one at each end of the gate.

This Spring Loaded Gate Wheel Heavy Duty – 8" Polyurethane, 1,000 lb is rated to 1000 lbs per caster. Size a set by dividing the total load by the number of casters, and for uneven floors assume 3 of 4 casters carry the load. Keep continuous-use loads within about 75-80% of the rating.
This caster runs a Blue Solid Polyurethane wheel with a 2" tread width. Polyurethane protects finished floors, rolls quietly, and resists most chemicals while carrying heavy loads.
This caster uses a top-plate mount with a 4" x 11" plate. Measure your existing mounting holes before ordering; if you are replacing casters, match the bolt pattern - most standard patterns interchange across brands.
Rated for -20°F to 180°F. Operating outside the rated range can reduce wheel life and load capacity, so match it to your environment (wash-down, freezer, oven-adjacent, etc.).
The Blue Solid Polyurethane wheel performs best on smooth to semi-smooth floors including sealed concrete, tile, and epoxy. For non-marking or clean-environment needs, ask us about matching tread options.
