B&P Platform Truck Parts · PT & PTF Handles, Caster Kits, Bumpers

Replacement parts for B&P PT and PTF series platform trucks. The PT series uses a welded steel deck (good when you need bumpers or carpet attachments). The PTF series uses a formed aluminum deck and runs lighter at the same capacity. Both share most handles, caster kits, and bumper hardware — this section carries the parts that fit either family.

PT vs PTF — the difference that matters

Before you buy parts, confirm which family your truck is. The two share many caster kits and bumpers but differ in deck repair parts and handle mount geometry.

Family Deck Cap Best For
PT Welded steel 850–1,500 lb Bumpers, carpet attach, severe-duty
PTF Formed aluminum 1,500–2,000 lb Lightweight, route, cost-effective

Handles — loop & removable

Most platform-truck handles fail at the mounting plate where they pivot. B&P uses two mounting styles: bolted (permanent) and quick-release pin (removable for stack-and-store). Match the bolt pattern on your old plate before ordering.

Caster kits — 5″, 6″, 8″

B&P platform trucks ship with 2 swivel + 2 rigid kits. The most common kit on PT-3060S is the 6″ Colson Performa kit (1,500 lb total deck rating). Replace as a set of 4 so the truck rolls level — mixing wear levels causes the deck to rock.

Deck hardware — bumpers, edge guards, tie-down rings

Vinyl bumpers protect the dock and the load. Steel edge guards add corner protection on PT welded decks. Tie-down rings bolt through pre-punched holes — PTF aluminum decks need backing plates if you’re drilling new holes.

Caster axle hardware

Bolts, lock washers, and mounting plates for swapping caster kits. Worth keeping in stock if you run a fleet — the bolts shear before the caster itself fails.

Wheel-only replacements

If your caster swivel is good but the wheel is flat, you can pull and replace just the wheel using the axle hardware kit. See our B&P wheels section for compatible diameters.

How to pick a replacement caster kit

Three checks before you order: (1) Caster mount style — B&P uses standard 4-bolt top plate but the bolt spacing varies by truck size. Measure your existing mount. (2) Wheel diameter — standard is 6″ on most PT-3060 trucks but PT-2436 ships with 5″ and PTF-3672 ships with 8″. (3) Wheel material — Colson Performa is the OEM tread and is what most parts orders should specify. Phenolic or steel options exist for high-heat or wet environments.

Platform truck parts FAQs

Are PT and PTF parts interchangeable? Most handles, bumpers, and caster kits are. Deck hardware (rivets, edge guards) is not — PT uses steel hardware, PTF uses aluminum-spec hardware.
What capacity should the caster kit be rated for?The total of all 4 casters should equal or exceed the truck’s rated load. PT-3060S rated 1,500 lb pairs with 4x 400 lb casters (1,600 lb total) for a safety margin.
Can I add bumpers to a PTF deck?Yes — bumper kits are universal across PT and PTF. PTF decks need a backing plate behind the bolt if you’re drilling fresh holes.
Why are my caster bolts shearing?Usually overload or impact — bolts shear before the caster fails on B&P kits. Replace with grade-8 hardware and audit the load weight against the kit rating.
Do these parts fit other brands of platform truck? The bolt patterns are B&P-specific. For Magliner, Vestil, or generic platform trucks see our platform truck section.
How often should casters be replaced?Industrial route fleets typically rotate caster kits every 24–36 months. Lighter office or showroom platform trucks can run 5+ years without replacement.
