These Hamilton EPSD precision casters fit heavy equipment, dies, molds, and plant carts that move very heavy loads. Casters in this collection range from 2,200 to 36,800 lb per caster. Wheels are 6 to 12 x 3 and 4 in swivel and rigid models. Single wheel EPSD models run 2,200 to 10,000 lb. The higher ratings are Hamilton EMD2 forged steel dual wheel models also listed here. Dual wheel casters split the load over two wheels and swivel with less effort under heavy loads. Wheel options include polyurethane, nylon, phenolic, and forged steel, so match the tread to the floor and the load. Match plate size, bolt pattern, and overall height before you order. Choose swivel casters when the cart must turn in place and rigid casters for straight travel. Read the listing for the exact wheel size, overall height, and mount shown. Heavy duty hub: heavy duty casters. Plate aisle: plate casters.

Choosing Hamilton enhanced precision casters

  1. Load: plan on three casters carrying a four-caster cart [S2]; at 22,400 lb each, a common rating here, that is about 67,200 lb, and the 36,800 lb top rating covers about 110,400 lb.
  2. Mount: most Hamilton enhanced precision casters use a 6-1/2 x 7-1/2 in top plate; 8-1/2 x 8-1/2 in plates are listed too; measure bolt hole centers on the old plate and compare.
  3. Floor: on Hamilton enhanced precision casters, polyurethane is kinder to tile and finished floors; phenolic and forged steel roll easier under heavy loads on smooth concrete.
  4. Rig: swivel and rigid Hamilton enhanced precision casters are listed.
  5. Heat: among Hamilton enhanced precision casters, the highest listed range is -40°F to 320°F on forged steel; check the temperature field on each listing before oven or hot-room use.
