Three-wheel dollies use a triangle layout — typically 2 rear swivel/rigid wheels and 1 front pivot wheel. Maneuverability advantage over 4-wheel: the dolly turns on the front wheel like a wheelbarrow, much tighter radius. Trade-off: slightly less stability under heavy loads vs 4-wheel.
Three-wheel for moving objects through doorways, around corners, up and down ramps where maneuverability matters.
