These are complete swivel casters on 1/2″-13 threaded stems. Measure stem length (7/8″, 1″, or 1-1/8″) from the top of the swivel to the end of the thread. Fork still good? Shop wheels only.

The universal North American standard is a 1/2″-13 threaded stem. Stem length is the variable: 7/8″ is the most common on carts built since 2000, with 1″ and 1-1/8″ on some frames. Measure from the top of the swivel plate to the end of the thread. The thread size, not the length, is what makes it universal.
Standard grocery and retail carts run swivel casters at the front and rigid forks at the rear. The threaded-stem casters on this page are the front swivel positions. Rear rigid positions normally take a wheel-only replacement, which is on the wheels page.
Yes on carts built since 2000. Those brands share the 1/2″-13 stem, 5″ wheel, and 5/16″ bore, so a 5″ swivel caster with the correct stem length drops in. Imported plastic carts, European carts such as Wanzl, and pre-2000 frames vary, so measure the old stem first or send us a photo.

The kit listings include the complete swivel caster plus the lock nut for the threaded stem, so one SKU covers the position. Single casters and 2-packs marked "lock nut included" on the tile also ship with the nut. Check the tile meta line before ordering.
A complete shopping cart caster is the swivel fork, the threaded stem, and the 5″ × 1-1/4″ wheel as one assembly. It is the right replacement when the fork is bent, the swivel grinds or has play, or the cart pulls to one side even after a new wheel. The casters on this page use the universal 1/2″-13 threaded stem found on nearly every North American grocery and retail cart built since 2000, so the only spec to confirm is stem length.
Measure from the top face of the swivel to the end of the thread on the old caster. Do not include any nut.
