Durastar heavy duty casters

This collection holds Heavy Duty Casters with polyurethane, metal and nylon wheels, built for shop carts, equipment, and material handling carts that move heavier loads. Casters in this collection range from 450 to 2,500 lb per caster. Wheels in this category range from 4 up to 12 inches in diameter with 2 to 3 in tread widths. The collection includes swivel and rigid models. Kingpinless swivels hold up better under shock and repeat loads. Polyurethane (poly or urethane) treads are quiet, floor safe, and resist water and many chemicals. Metal wheels roll with low effort and handle debris and heat. They are loud and can mark finished floors. Nylon rolls easily, resists water and many chemicals, and is hard, so it is loud on rough floors. Match plate size, bolt pattern, and overall height before you order. Choose swivel casters when the cart must turn in place and rigid casters for straight travel. Polyurethane aisle: polyurethane casters. Wheel hub: replacement wheels.

Choosing Durastar heavy duty casters

  1. Load: plan on three casters carrying a four-caster cart [S2]; Durastar heavy duty casters rated 2,500 lb each then carry about 7,500 lb.
  2. Mount: most Durastar heavy duty casters use a 4 x 4-1/2 in top plate; 4-1/2 x 6-1/4 in and 4-1/2x6-1/4 in plates are listed too; match the bolt holes on your frame to the plate before ordering.
  3. Floor: on Durastar heavy duty casters, polyurethane and rubber are kinder to tile and finished floors; nylon, ductile iron, phenolic and semi-steel roll easier under heavy loads on smooth concrete.
  4. Rig: swivel and rigid Durastar heavy duty casters are listed.
  5. Heat: among Durastar heavy duty casters, the highest listed range is -45°F to 800°F on ductile iron; check the temperature field on each listing before oven or hot-room use.
